A Beautiful Valley Day, Hello Dear Readers, it has warmed up, garden has been planted, I am harvesting apple mint for drying for our tea we drink. Speck, our jersey/dexter heifer, aborted a few months ago, she is doing fine. I have her with our bull Chaco now and we will try her again. Elsie, our jersey, is due end of June. I have moved her from the pond side pasture to the barn side pasture, she is also doing well.
Husband has gone for strawberries this morning from friends of ours in one of the plain communities. I will be making jam, syrup and will freeze some for smoothies. He also went down the lane a few weeks ago and dug up some nice mullen plants and I planted them by the outside of the chicken yard, they are coming along nicely. Years ago, there was a very large patch in the neighboring property, but when the owners had it clear cut, you can guess, the plants never came back, so very sad, as there was also a large mulberry tree that produced nice berries, it was tromped down as well, with no thought what so ever.
We, here in the valley, are well, God is so wonderful, even in the times of these last months that have tried our souls, HE IS EVER FAITHFUL. We have joy, peace, and contentment, which most days it is in earnest prayer that they come. Gods word tells us we must strive to enter in the straight gate, we must be diligent, always, always in prayer. Of late my deep, earnest prayer is to have an excellent spirit in me as Daniel had, oh that my Father God would, will, find this spirit in me today.
Seek the Lord while he may be found.
Seek after the old paths, where you will find rest for your souls, Jer. 6:16 and do not be as the Israelites and say, 'we will not.'
IN JOY
